I woke up with this song in my head:

So What
By: Pink
RATED PG for some profanity

On a completely unrelated note, my husband is going away today.  I don’t know where he’s going.  I mean, I know he’s going back to his pre-stroke employer, but there is so much traveling involved that I rarely know where he actually is when he is away.

So, that’s what up with me today. I’m off to do some driving, you know, to drop him off with a co-worker in the next state over. Anything new with you?

Sometimes I buy pre-cooked frozen sausage patties.  This means I can have a fully cooked hot sausage patty for breakfast in under 10 minutes.  It also means, you can easily have just one patty instead of needing to mess with the entire package.

The other morning Hubby made breakfast for both of us.  He made a sausage patty for me and two for him.  He also made one egg for me and 2 or 3 for himself.  What he learned that morning is not how much I eat, but rather HOW I eat it.  Before I explain, let me back up a bit….

I sometimes have issues with eating eggs.  No, it’s not some moral standard.  Just sometimes even the thought of eggs turns my stomach.  Other times, they are wonderful and sound delicious.  When I do eat a fried egg, it must have the white fully cooked.  Either way for the yellow is fine, but if there is any slime (uncooked non-yellow) then I’m done.

Okay, so Hubby made breakfast.  In insuring my egg would be done, the yellow was pretty much sold as well.  He put the plates on the table, we prayed and then ate.

I took my fork and cut a piece of sausage out of my circle shaped sausage.   It was a triangle shape piece that I cut, thus leaving my sausage to look like… yes, you guessed it… a pac-man.  I do this almost every time.  (No, I won’t tell you how old I am)  Then, I took another triangle out, making “pac man’s mouth’ a bit bigger… and making it look like I had a pair of pants on my fork (No, I’m not 12).  I ate all the white, and put the yellow in the “mouth of pac man” and started laughing.  It was planned.  That was just the way I ate that morning… When I saw the solid yellow, I couldn’t help but to put in there on my plate….

The next morning he made breakfast again. This time he added hash-browns. You know the kind that are like chopped potatoes.  He watched me eat because I guess it’s entertaining to see a grown woman turn her food into a classic video game.   Did you know it only takes two chopped pieces of potato to make a Sausage Pac-Man into Mrs. Sausage-Pac-Man?  That’s right, her bow is made of taters!

(Yes, I’m sure I’m a grown up)   I asked Hubby if he remembered a Pac-Man cartoon.  He said no, but thought there was a cereal.  I said “MARSHMALLOW GHOSTS!”

Do you remember all that stuff?

Of course this all took me down memory lane.
There are a lot of songs that take me back to another place and time.  There are some songs that I remember using to get me through life.

One song that brings a lot back is this one:

Time After Time
By: Cyndi Lauper

I wasn’t her biggest fan, but that song… that song I really liked.

Is it a sin to brag? Because I want to brag.
My son, my 13 year old son, made supper tonight.
He also put away the left overs. Aw yeah baby!
Is that bragging?

I’m rather achy today.  Most of the women out there probably know what I mean by that statement.  I have my medicine though.  Yes, ice cream absolutely is medicine.

I missed service because I was to lazy to get up early and then I helped out at the children’s desk.  It’s okay though, because I can download and watch it on Tuesday.

I did not go to HT tonight due to the “incident” last HT.  No, not at the host house, but at my house.  Can you say drama?   Yeah, me too. So, I skipped HT tonight to avoid more drama and the children stayed in their rooms.  Yes, even Son who made supper and put away the left overs…… Hey!  Do you think he made supper because I’m achy, because he wanted to, or to get out of his room?   Never mind. I am sure it’s just because he was being nice and helpful.  Right?  Right.

Anyhow, I’m feeling a bit better now than I was earlier.  Yay.  Of course, I’ve also been doing a lot of sitting too. I think ibuprofen is just great.

Speaking of great, I still have not finished the blogroll revamping.  I’m sorry you are all missing out on some great links.

My friend’s back is doing a lot better now.  I’m pretty much done helping her.  I say pretty much because I will probably stop in at some point this week to check on her.  I know what you are thinking.  You are thinking “Can you say Momma Hen?”  I’d just reply “Am NOT!” in a huff, then you’ll laugh at me, and a vicious circle would begin.

Hm, I don’t have a good segue here, so I’ll just throw this week’s video out there for you to enjoy.
Oh, in case you are wondering, yes this is the same song that I have on my myspace page (at the time of typing this entry).  I really should update that thing some time this year.

Anyhow, enjoy.

It’s late in the day, but still Sunday.
Not much to say as I’ve been fighting a headache today.
So, something a bit more subdued (beat wise), perhaps?

Ah, what a day already. It’s humid and warm, but not hot, outside. I have done dished, eaten lunch, and thought about laundry.  It is hard to believe it is already after noon!  I still have so much to do today.  Yeah, I know… “Then get off the computer and do it.”   I will, soon.

First though, I must put up (a late) song.
How about something loud that might get you moving?
You know, so you can get your stuff done too.

Here it is… Enjoy.

Yeah, I know it’s Monday.  Shhh!

I heard about a movie on the radio this morning.  The movie is called Fireproof.  Maybe I’m just hormonal, but the clip on the radio and the trailer on-line got me all teary eyed.  I do not think it’s a big Hollywood production. However, it is not suppose to be super cheesy either.  Unfortunately, it is not coming to my area… yet.

Daughter and I went to the movies Saturday.  We saw Igor.  It wasn’t too bad, actually.  Probably not my favorite children’s movie, but not too bad. Though the promo says something about h a l l o w e e n, I do not remember that holiday being mentioned. It’s just a bunch of monster and e v i l scientist. … Yeah, I know how that sounds. But really I think it’s more about good vs. bad, right choices vs. wrong.  But then again, maybe I was just too into my popcorn to know what really going on around me.

Sunday we went to church.  New series time again.  Then Sunday night I tried a new HT.
Have I mentioned that Wednesday at noon-central time there is an on-line service?  I am pretty sure I mentioned the two on-line Sunday services before now.
Anyhow, the new series is about God’s will. No, the pastor is not trying to tell us what God’s will is for us individually exactly, but more how to find God’s will.  (Hint: Opening His Word and getting to know HIM)  So, if you want to join me, come on.

Wonderful Box:

About one week ago I alluded to a wonderful box (among other things) in a post I wrote.  Now, lucky lucky you gets to read all about it.
I had ordered some clothes for Daughter on-line.  They fit, but if she grows or eats a large meal they will no longer fit.  So, I got a hold of friend to ask what size her girls wear.  Turns out, the clothes are too big for her girls, but…….

Ah, the but.  I love this but.

BUT, she has a box sitting there that I might be interested in.   It is full of clothes just my girl’s size.

So, we were blessed beyond measure with a box of clothes that will both give Daughter some new school clothes and winter clothes.

There was one big fault with this box though.  What is that, you ask?  What could I possibly complain about?  Well, this:

Don’t ya just LOVE them?!?!?!?!  The problem is, they are Daughter’s size, not mine!  How rude!  Right?

******** **** ******** ****

Actually that box also arrived right around Daughter’s birthday.  For her, it was like getting a present in the mail!  Yay!
Her birthday actually fell on a weekday, so we celebrated on Saturday.  Yes, Movie Saturday.  She invited a friend to go to the movies with her instead of having a party.  Worked for me, sorta.  See, I did not enjoy the movie all that much and there were a few “issues.”   But all in all, I guess, it was good.  *clears throat*  Okay, well it wasn’t too bad.

******** **** ******** ****

Have I mentioned that Mother is not, I repeat NOT computer knowledgeable.  I mean, seriously.  Ok, let me just give you a hint as to how bad it is…
She called when she got her new computer (yes, she actually has had a computer before this one).  She said “It’s all hooked up but won’t come on. The screen is black.”
I asked the standard questions.  “Is it plugged into the wall and the computer?  Is it turned on?”
She could not find the power button for the monitor.   …… “You mean the thing that looks like a clock?”

Ok, well this same woman now has internet.  I spend the better part of 3 days trying to get her, her new roommate, their two computers and their cable tv all set up.  *sigh*  And I ain’t done yet.

She calls with questions.  Which, I normally wouldn’t mind, but the calls in the past have gone like this:
“There was a box. What does it mean?”
“Read it to me.”
“I can’t. I closed it.  Why was it there?”

“Why won’t my music play?”
“Open your media player.”
“What’s that?”

Okay, so asking what a media player is when you don’t know is fine. However, you must keep in mind, that I had SHOWN her before where it is and where the quick link to open it was…

This is the source of endless frustration followed (days later) by laughter.   She takes my frustration well.  I have, standing in front of her, made “static sounds” (like on a cell phone) and said “You’re breaking up.”

******** **** ******** ****

So far school seems to be going well. You know, outside of the big drama.  Don’t worry, we actually weren’t directly involved this time.  That is to say, we weren’t the main characters.

******** **** ******** ****

Just got off the phone, I kid you not, to answer more questions.  Yes, SHE is on the INTERNET.   By the way, a forward slash is under the question mark… next to the shift key.

******** **** ******** ****

And that last phone call leads me to this week’s Sunday Song.  I picked something rather mellow and from way way back.  So, kick back, relax, and enjoy this song from another time.
